On 23 May 2013 the Restitution of Land Rights Amendment Bill, 2013 was published for public comment.
The Bill seeks to align the restitution programme with the broad goals of the National Development Plan of building a united country and addressing historical injustices. The Bill provides for the reopening of lodgment of land claims for a period of five years, and other technical amendments.
